Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve had time to update. School has gotten insanely busy for me in the past week. I’m really enjoying my Russian and Soviet Film class, though. I plan to take either Russian or French next school year, depending on how I feel once I start planning next semester. I haven’t really had much time to do much, but I plan on working on the Guide to Action page in the next day or so. Stay tuned.

Yesterday, I started a new class called Russian and Soviet Film. It is a four hour class, twice a week. So far, I am really enjoying it! I am learning about the Russian perspective on the world, and am debating on looking into their global sustainability efforts. Perhaps this is a topic I will be able to cover in the future?? Hello all. Yesterday was my 19th birthday! Happy birthday to me! This weekend was a lot of fun. I got to see a bunch of friends from back home as well as my family. Today I’m going to read over some more of my classmates’ blogs and see what they have to say.

Hello all. On Saturday I read through some of my fellow GVers’ blogs. It seems like everyone is covering an interesting topic. I commented on gabriellebyers and maebling’s blogs. Gabbi is working on comparing and contrasting our education system to that of other countries and where our system falls short. Mae-ling is blogging about sexual trafficking, and why it is a problem. Hello again. Not much has happened since my last post. I’ve been really tired this week…. My birthday is in 8 days though! So that’s pretty exciting.

The only real issues I’ve had with this blog so far are trying to find articles online from different sources as well as covering as many different parts of the world and their sustainability efforts. I’ve been searching different web sources, but so far the best ones I’ve found have been from the the NY Times. So props to them I suppose. I’m going to update the breaking news page again today, and maybe work on the green companies page too. Stay tuned.

This weekend was fun. The Newark kids were really cool, and we got a lot done. I’m going to be uploading some new things to the blog today (if I ever get any motivation!) Hopefully I’ll be adding a couple new pages to this blog.

10/2/09: Busy, Busy

As you can read from the title, I’ve been REALLY busy this week. Some students from the one of the TEAM schools in Newark, NJ are here this weekend to brainstorm ideas for the children’s book we are writing here in the Global Village. The project is called Books & Beyond, and it’s a great program. Links to more info about the project are in the sidebar.

Basically I’m just trying to catch up on my Breaking News page. I’m going to be busy with Books and Beyond all weekend, so there’ll be little time for much else but homework and laundry. I’m still planning on adding a couple new pages, so be on the lookout!

9/28/09: Progress so far

So far, I have only uploaded a couple of articles and things to my blog. However, I’m learning how much work goes into making a blog and think that blogging is something I may continue after this project is over.

Things I have done for the project thus far: created 3 pages, posted some Breaking News articles, working on my blogroll, and worked on my Background & Analysis page.

Hopefully I can continue having success with this project.
I’d really like to learn how to create my own theme for my blog. Perhaps I’ll look into that if I have some time.
